The Almighty is a Discord bot for gaming communities. This page explains what it stores, why, who can see it, and how to delete it. In Discord you can also type -privacy for a short version.
What the bot stores
Only what features need, and only after you use them:
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your SteamID | You run -linksteam | Steam features (profiles, libraries, games in common, sales) |
| Your Roblox ID and username | You sign in with Roblox through -linkroblox | Showing your verified Roblox account |
| Your timezone | You run -timezone | Showing game night times correctly |
| Price watches | You run -watch | DMing you when a game goes on sale |
| Reminders (including their text) | You run -remind | Sending the reminder |
| Game scores and streaks | You play the cookie game, trivia, or use -daily | Leaderboards |
| Triggers you create | You run -trigger add | Making them work |
| Weekly playtime totals | A server turns on weekly recaps and you've linked Steam | Calculating hours played that week |
| Who invited you (and invite counts) | You join a server through an invite | -invites counts |
| Your ideas and idea votes | You use -idea or vote on one | The server's idea board |
| Your AFK note | You run -afk | Telling people you're away (deleted when you're back) |
| Your birthday (month and day only, never the year) | You run -birthday set | Birthday announcements and roles |
| XP and levels (a number per server) | A server turns on levels and you chat | Levels, level roles, and leaderboards |
| Game night attendance | You click Going or Maybe on a game night | Game night stats and awards |
| Message counts (a number per server, never the text) | You chat in a server | Giveaway requirements and levels |
| Giveaway entries | You click Enter on a giveaway | Picking winners (deleted a week after it ends) |
| Bug reports and suggestions | You run -bugreport or -suggest | Fixing things, and messaging you about them |
| Moderation records (warnings, bans, timeouts, reasons, and ban appeals) | A server moderator takes action, or you appeal a ban | Server moderation history |
| Your Discord "Watching" status (what your profile already shows to the server, like a show on Stremio) | Only read when someone runs -watching, and only if the bot owner turned it on | Showing it in that reply. Never saved: the bot only keeps it in memory while you're watching |
| Connected Last.fm or stats.fm account (your username, a sign-in key from Last.fm, the artists you hold a "crown" for in each server, your music friends list, and servers where you hid yourself from music lists) | You run -fm login and sign in on Last.fm, or -statsfm link <username> | Music stats like now playing, top lists, charts and -whoknows. Listening data is fetched live and not kept. -fm unset or -forgetme removes it, crowns included |
| Steam Family here (who's in your family, and hours the bot records on games you borrow through it) | You accept a -family add invite | Counting family games in -gamestats, -wrapped and -randomgame. -family leave leaves; -forgetme also deletes the recorded hours |
| Connected Trakt account (your Trakt username, sign-in tokens, and whether you turned sharing on) | You run -trakt link and approve it on Trakt | Movie info, movie nights, -wswatch and -watching. Your watchlist and what you watch can show in channels while sharing is on. It starts on when you connect (you're told before you approve), and -trakt share off turns it off. -trakt unlink or -forgetme disconnects it and deletes the tokens |
| Twitch, YouTube and TV show alerts (the public channels and shows a server follows, and which streams, videos and episodes were already posted) | A server admin runs -alerts | Posting when they go live or upload |
| Connected AniList account (your AniList username, ID, and the sign-in token AniList gives, which lets the bot read your lists) | You run -anilist link and sign in on AniList | Showing your anime profile and what you're watching. -anilist unlink or -forgetme removes it |
| Connected MyAnimeList account (your MyAnimeList username, ID, and the sign-in tokens MyAnimeList gives, which let the bot read your lists) | You run -mal link and sign in on MyAnimeList | Showing your anime profile and what you're watching. -mal unlink or -forgetme removes it |
| Connected Xbox account (your gamertag, Xbox user ID, and the access key OpenXBL gives for your sign-in) | You run -xbox link and sign in with Microsoft | Showing your gamerscore and recent games. -xbox unlink or -forgetme removes it |
| Connected Epic Games account (your Epic display name and account ID, nothing else; the sign-in token is thrown away right after) | You run -epic link and sign in on Epic Games | Showing your Epic name, your Fortnite stats with -fortnite, and the Epic tile on -profile. -epic unlink or -forgetme removes it |
| Connected GOG profile (just your GOG username) | You run -gog link <username> | Showing your public GOG games and hours with -gog and on -profile. -gog unlink or -forgetme removes it |
| A server's saved Minecraft server address (not personal) | An admin runs -minecraft set | So -minecraft alone checks it |
| Welcome images (server images, not personal) | An admin sets a welcome or goodbye image | Showing them to new members |
| Server settings (prefix, channels, roles) | A server admin configures the bot | Running the bot in that server |
The bot does not store the contents of your messages, except the text of a reminder you set. Translations, captions, and images are processed and discarded.
Who can see it
- Server members can look up your linked Steam profile, library, wishlist, and game stats through bot commands, unless you run
-privacy steam private. - Moderation records are only visible to that server's staff.
- The bot's owner can access stored data to operate and maintain the bot.
Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
Outside services
- Dashboard login: logging in on thealmightybot.com/dashboard with Discord reads your name, avatar, and server list. The Discord login token is revoked right after, and your session ends after 7 days or when you log out.
- IsThereAnyDeal and GG.deals receive only Steam game IDs and the game names you search for, to look up prices. Nothing about you is sent.
- Steam (Valve) receives your SteamID to look up your games, achievements, and profile. If you sign in with Steam to verify, that happens on Steam's own page; the bot never sees your password and only learns your SteamID.
- Roblox handles the sign-in when you link a Roblox account. The bot never sees your Roblox password, only asks for your basic profile, and gives the access back right after reading it.
- Groq and MyMemory receive the text of messages you ask the bot to translate. If a server turns on chat mode, Groq also receives messages sent to the bot there, plus a few recent messages for context.
- Open Trivia DB provides trivia questions; no personal data is sent.
- GamerPower is used for free game listings (Steam and Epic Games Store); no personal data is sent.
- Twitch and YouTube receive the public channel names and IDs that server admins choose to follow, to check for live streams and new uploads. Nothing about you is sent.
- Last.fm handles your sign-in on its own site (the bot never sees your password) and receives your username to look up your listening stats.
- stats.fm, if you link it with
-statsfm link, receives your stats.fm username to look up your public listening stats. The bot only stores that username (-statsfm unlinkor-forgetmeremoves it). - Spotify, the Cover Art Archive, Deezer and Apple (iTunes) receive album and artist names (never anything about you) to find cover art for charts. Covers are only used in memory and never saved.
- AniList and MyAnimeList handle your sign-in on their own sites (the bot never sees your password and only reads your lists, never changes them), and receive the usernames and anime or manga names you look up. Public MyAnimeList profile totals come from Jikan, which receives the username. Xbox (through the OpenXBL service) receives the gamertags you look up or link, to read public profile stats. Epic Games handles your sign-in on its own site and tells the bot only your display name and account ID. GOG receives the GOG usernames you link or look up, to read public profiles. Fortnite-API.com receives the Fortnite names or Epic account IDs you look up, to read public Fortnite stats. The Epic Games Store's public free games list is read directly, with nothing about you sent.
- IGDB (owned by Twitch), HowLongToBeat and OpenCritic receive game names, and mcsrvstat.us receives Minecraft server addresses, to show game details, play times, critic scores and server status. Nothing about you is sent.
- Trakt receives your sign-in when you connect it, and the bot reads your watchlist, watch history, and what you're watching to power the movie commands. Movie and show searches, and the episode checks for a server's show alerts, are sent without anything about you. Posters are downloaded from Trakt and attached to messages.
- Public server pages: if a server turns on its stats page, your display name and scores on its leaderboards appear on this website. You can hide yourself on every server's page with
-privacy web off. - Chat mode:
-privacy chat offkeeps your messages from ever being sent to the AI, even as background for someone else's chat. - Backups: the bot's data is backed up daily in encrypted form, and old backups are deleted after two weeks.
- Applications you fill out are posted to that server's staff channel; the bot doesn't keep a copy.
- This website only sets a cookie if you log in to the dashboard: one that keeps you logged in (for 7 days, or until you log out), plus a short-lived one while logging in. No tracking or advertising cookies.
Each service handles data under its own privacy policy.
Security
- Everything the bot stores is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM): linked accounts, settings, scores, moderation records, reminders, reports, and saved images.
- The bot's credentials are kept out of its code, in the host's environment settings.
How long data is kept
- Until you delete it, or
- 30 days after you leave every server the bot is in (cancelled if you rejoin one), or
- When a server's data is wiped by the bot owner.
Moderation records belong to each server and stay with it, so a person can't erase their own moderation history.
Your controls
